Meet Nicole

Hey! I'm Nicole, writer and mom behind the The Kavanaugh Report. And, I'm here to stand up into the mic and say that I love Montessori, and I want to share that Montessori joy with you.

In 2009, I started a little blog called The Kavanaugh Report as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. Since then, it's morphed into a way to share the realities of Montessori parenting with the world.  See, a big little someone joined our lives in 2011 that changed everything -- Henry.

I will forever be thankful to Henry in helping me discover Montessori. He was a big personality in a tiny baby body that left us feeling like there had to be a better way to "do" this parenting thing. One day I came across the word "Montessori" and have been hooked ever since. I couldn't stop reading, talking, writing, and learning about Montessori. Since then, we've added Nora, Augustus, and Theodore to the mix.

Today, I write about our Montessori journey and the Montessori method on The Kavanaugh Report. These posts are glimpses into how we purposefully live and strive to create the best life possible for ourselves and our children. I'm also proud to offer a variety of online Montessori parenting courses to help you find the joy of Montessori in your own home with your children.

WHY MONTESSORI?

Dr. Maria Montessori described her method as an "aid to life." Not only is Montessori an excellent educational pedagogy, it has become a way to raise children, from birth, to allow them to blossom at their own pace, discover their own interests, develop deep concentration, and become fiercely independent. This happens through the creation of a prepared environment, respect from an adult, and a focus on following the child.

For our family, Montessori has become our way of life. It is how we structure our home and raise our children. It influences the consumer products we purchase, our home design, our discipline, and how we educate our children. It has been my life's greatest joy watching our children become exactly who they were supposed to be, at exactly the time they were supposed to be! Montessori is joy, Montessori is peace, Montessori is our life.
